How to get to Mt Le Conte and where to park.
From Gatlinburg, head east on River Road and continue onto the Historic Nature Trail.
Take a left onto Cherokee Orchard Road, where you will find the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Follow the signs to the Sugarlands Visitor Center, where you can obtain valuable information and permits.
From there, drive along Newfound Gap Road until you reach the Alum Cave Trailhead.
