Years of Experience – Dan started in construction in 1987 working on underground utilities, water wells, water purification systems and hazardous waste clean-up. Dan became a builder in 1997 when he built his first building, which was 36,125 sq. ft. In 2001, Dan oversaw 165 employees building subdivisions, multi-family housing, gymnasiums, surgical centers, restaurants, entertainment music halls, hotels, grocery stores, shopping malls etc. In 2004, Dan built his first custom home and since that time with Austin have built over 117 residences.

 

  • Level of effort – It is our goal to understand the home that a customer dreams about and work to make that a reality. From design and capturing the intricacies of the location, to the finishes that excite the customer, we strive to build the home with the customer’s goals in mind.
  • Open Book and Honest – Communication is most important. We strive to communicate with the customer on every item including materials, deliveries, budgets and costs, and schedule. We are an open book contractor. The customer will know all of the information that we know including costs, goals, scheduling, recommendations, hurdles and victories.
  • Construction Minimums – There are minimums that we install in all our homes. They include upgraded HVAC systems. We place additional insulation such as between floors, between bedrooms and living spaces, and key locations all to reduce sound and noise. We install 5/8” Type X drywall throughout the home for added quality, safety and noise control. We choose specific subcontractors that we know will install items in the home to last and meet customer expectations.

Dan started in the construction business in 1987 and has been involved in a vast amount of construction projects from the ground-up including hotels, restaurants, school remodels, surgical centers, processing plants, convents, custom homes, spec homes, residential development, historical remodels, apartments, as well as hazardous waste and emergency clean-up projects over most of the western United States (Hawaii, California, Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico). Austin started in the construction business in 2017 specializing in underground utility construction and pipeline inspection. At the end of 2018 he joined Dan Scales in the construction of custom and spec homes in Santa Rosa, CA, as well as in Bakersfield, CA. Here are some examples:
